Voi minua laiskuria! Olisi vihdoin viimein pitänyt hoputtaa metsäyhtiötä hakkaamaan tuo lehmuksen takaa näkyvä metsäpalsta. Siitä saisi puuttuvan peltolaidunpinta-alan. Ostimme nääs lisää tukioikeuksia ja nyt ei pinta-alat enää synkkaa tukioikeuksien kanssa. Siis lisää peltoa on saatava!
Meillä ei aina nuo hakkuut ole menneet kuten olisimme tarkoittaneet. Kerran metsäyhtiö hakkasi suojelumetsän siemenpuuasentoon. Toisella kerralla, eri firma, savotoi viereisen kuvion kuin mikä oli tarkoitus. Odotimme hakkuuta puoli vuotta. Olikohan puunostaja savolainen?
Asiaan. Tai siis asian vierestä. Niin! Innostuin orkidean kasvatuksesta. Tuttava lahjoitti meille upeasti kukkivan punaliilan perhosorkidean. Kukinnan jälkeen kasvi on ollut viherkasvina. Tänä keväänä kasviin on ilmestynyt kukkanuppu. Oli meillä valkokukkainenkin orkidea. Lahjoitin sen tutulle orkideaharrastajalle.
Tuttujen kanssa oli puhetta orkideoista, näistä salaperäisistä epifyyteistä. Aloin tutkimaan asiaa netistä. YouTubessa oli paljon orkideankasvatusniksejä. Suomessa on oma sivusto orkideaharrastajille.
Opin mm. että vanhaan kukkavanaan kasvanut poikanen, keiko, voidaan siirtää omaan kaavatusastiaan, jossa se viihtyessään kukkii uutterasti. Orkideaa ei istuteta multaan vaan karikkeeseen.
Kasvi voi kasvaa läpinäkymättömässä ruukussa. Tai läpinäkyvässä ruukussa. Siksi läpinäkyvässä, kun siitä voi kätevästi tarkkailla juurien kuntoa. Milloin kastelu on tarpeen. Kun orkidean juuristo näyttää harmaalta, on kastelun aika. Kasvi upotetaan ruukkuineen päivineen huoneenlämpöiseen veteen puoleksi tai koko tunniksi. Kun juuret näyttävät vihreiltä, on orkidea satanut riittävästi kosteutta. Sen jälkeen liika vesi kaadetaan pois. Tähän tarkoitukseen sopivat parhaiten läpinäkyvä, rei'itetty orkidearuukku ja koristeellinen, vedenpitävä päällysruukku. Lehdille ei saisi jäädä vettä, vaikka ne pitävät pyyhkimisestä ja suihkuttelusta. Orkideaa ei tarvitse usein lannoittaa. Se tykkää happamasta, eli laimennettu kahvi sopii yhdeksi lannoiteaineeksi.
Seuraavaksi kerron, mitä emo-orkidean taimelle, keikolle, tapahtui. Irrotin taimen irti kasvista. Mistäpä ruukku? Otin tyhjän limsapullon, reijitin sen ja lisäsin ruukkuun halkolaatikosta puukariketta sekä puuhiiltä, joka desinfioi kasvatusalustaa. Pidän orkideoita makkarin itäikkunalla. Orkideat eivät pidä suorasta auringonvalosta. Ja välillä ne voi unohtaa. Niitä ei tarvitse olla jatkuvasti nyppimässä.
Tökkäsin keikon omatekemääni orkidearuukkuun karikkeen joukkoon, liotin kunnolla ja hyvin näyttää viihtyvän. Pyyhin emon ja taimen lehdet banaanin lehdellä kiiltäviksi. Tämänkin ohjeen nappasin netistä. Orkidean kasvatusohjeita on yhtä paljon kuin kasvattajiakin, joten makuasioista ei kannata kiistellä. Taidanpa seuraavaksi alkaa hieromaan niitä puukauppoja!

There was talk of orchids with acquaintances, of these mysterious epiphytes. I started researching it online. There were a lot of orchid growing tricks on YouTube. Finland has its own website for orchid enthusiasts.
I learned e.g. that the pup, who grew up as an old flower, Keiko, can be transferred to his own plotting vessel, where it blooms diligently as it thrives. The orchid is not planted in the soil but in the litter.
The plant can grow in an opaque pot. Or in a transparent pot. Therefore, in a transparent, when it is convenient to monitor the condition of the roots. When irrigation is needed. When the root of the orchid looks gray, it is time to water. The plant and its pots are immersed in water at room temperature for half or an hour. When the roots look green, the orchid has rained enough moisture. Excess water is then poured off. Orchids do not like direct sunlight. And sometimes they can be forgotten. They don’t have to be constantly plucking.
I stuck a gig in my own orchid pot among the litter, soaked it well and seems to feel comfortable. I wipe the mother and trout leaves with a banana leaf to shine. I also grabbed this guide online. There are as many orchid growing instructions as there are growers, so it's not worth arguing about taste. Maybe next start massaging those wood shops!
